Ancora bimbe

Una piccola carrellata(le foto da mostrarvi sono davvero tante!!!) delle ultime piccine che ho realizzato (sono tutte riproduzioni di bambole custom realizzate su richiesta): ci sono una bimba col broncio, una dallo stile punk e una afro. Vi piacciono?

A small roundup (the photos I have to show you are so many !!!) of the last little girls I made (they are all reproductions of custom dolls made on request): there is a sulky little girl, a punk-style girl and an afro one. Do you like them?

L'ora del tè

Non avete idea di quante creazioni abbia da mostrarvi qui sul blog, tutte realizzate negli ultimi due mesi: voglio recuperare approfittando delle vacanze natalizie e del fatto che ho terminato di lavorare alle richieste ricevute e inizio da quella che forse mi è piaciuta più di tutte, una simpaticissima versione del Brucaliffo. Stupenda è l'illustrazione cui mi sono ispirata, di Piper Thibodeau, spero che la creazione le renda giustizia.

You have no idea how many creations I have to show you here on the blog, all made in the last two months: I want to recover by taking advantage of the Christmas holidays and the fact that I have finished working on all your requests and I'm going to start by the one I liked the most, a very nice version of the Alice's Caterpillar. Wonderful is the illustration I was inspired by, by Piper Thibodeau, I hope my creation does it justice.

Una zucca "mostruosa"!

 Halloween è ormai passato, quest'anno un po' sottotono per via delle tante restrizioni che impediscono i festeggiamenti (purtroppo qui in Italia la situazione va sempre più peggiorando e occorre la massima prudenza e attenzione da parte di tutti nel rispettare le regole: ci rifaremo l'anno prossimo, la sicurezza e la salute devono sempre essere al primo posto!), però una bella zucca non poteva mancare all'appello! La mia idea di partenza era quella di modellarne una mostruosamente spaventosa ma alla fine ne ho ottenuta una dall'aspetto tenero e vagamente nerd(non so perchè ma quegli occhialoni in resina hanno voluto prepotentemente il loro posto nella creazione): che ne dite?

Halloween is now over, this year a bit undertone due to the many restrictions that prevent celebrations (unfortunately here in Italy the situation is getting worse and worse and we need caution and attention in respecting the rules: we will make up for it next year, safety and health must always come first!), but a nice pumpkin could not be missed! My idea was to model a monstrously scary one but in the end I got a tender and vaguely nerdy look one(I don't know why but those resin goggles strongly wanted their place in the creation): what do you think about?

Christmas is coming?

Chi non conosce "Nightmare before Christmas"? Jack vestito da "Babbo Nachele" quest'anno sarà la perfetta decorazione per il nostro albero! Certo, considerando che mancano ancora quasi tre mesi al Natale, è un po' prematuro pensarci, però per preparare le decorazioni non è mai troppo presto(questa poi si addice anche un po' al periodo di Halloween che è ormai prossimo...)!

Who doesn't know "Nightmare before Christmas"? Jack disguised as "Sandy Claws" will be the perfect Christmas decoration for our tree this year! Considering that there are three months to Christmas yet, it is a bit premature to think about it, but for working on the decorations it is never too early (this one then also suits to the Halloween period which is so close ...)!

Seahorses

Questo progetto ha visto la luce poco a poco, nel corso degli ultimi mesi, quando bimbi, mare e lavoro mi hanno lasciato un po' di tempo per disegnare e modellare. Ho sempre trovato che i cavallucci marini fossero degli animaletti molto graziosi, con un che di regale, forse per la postura particolare, non saprei, comunque meditavo da tanto di realizzarne qualcuno e finalmente ne ho avuta l'occasione.

Ho dato spazio alla fantasia nella scelta dei colori, dite che ho fatto bene?

This project has seen the light a little at a time, over the last few months, when children, sea and work gave me some time to draw and model. I have always thought that seahorses were very pretty little animals, with something regal, perhaps due to their particular posture, I don't know, however I had been thinking for a long time to make some of them and finally I have had the opportunity.

I gave space to the imagination in the choice of colors, do you think I did well?

Lui è il primo nato, infatti è leggermente più grande degli altri e non ho potuto destinarlo ad una collanina come ho fatto con loro: sarà una decorazione da appendere. A differenza degli altri, realizzati a partire da una pasta colorata - quasi tutti in Youclay perchè meno soggetta a deformarsi e a prendere impronte - questo è stato realizzato interamente in Supersculpey, la versione medium grigia, e poi colorato con i Panpastel che sono molto coprenti (si nota leggermente la presenza di una base non chiara ma l'effetto finale è molto bello, con una finitura un po' grezza che dona alla creazione e anche all'uso cui sarà infine destinata). Dei quattro penso sia quello riuscito meglio proprio per le caratteristiche della pasta, peccato sia venuto troppo grande per poterlo usare come ciondolo!

This is the first born, in fact it is slightly larger than the others and I cannot use it for a necklace as I did with them: it will be a decoration to hang. Unlike the others, made starting from a colored polymer clay - almost totally Youclay because it is less subject to deformation and to take imprints - this one was made entirely in Supersculpey, the medium gray version, and then colored with Panpastel colors which are very opaque ( the presence of an unclear base is slightly noticeable but the final effect is very beautiful, with a bit rough finish that suits the creation and also the use it will be destined to). I think it is the best one among all, too bad it is too big to be used as a pendant!

E per finire vi mostro lo schizzo da cui sono partita (soggetto poi a innumerevoli modifiche in fase di realizzazione): mi rilassa tanto disegnare -nonostante i risultati mediocri- e ho anche notato che i lavori che nascono dopo uno "studio" su carta mi riescono meglio...o forse sono solo più affezionata a loro perchè ne vivo maggiormente la "nascita".

And finally, I show you the sketch I started from (subject to innumerable changes during the "making of" phase): it relaxes me so much drawing - despite the mediocre results - and I have also noticed that the works that arise after a "study" on paper succeed much better ... or maybe I'm just more fond of them because I live their "birth" the more.

Regine di fiori

Avevo dimenticato quanto potesse essere divertente e gratificante creare seguendo solo l'ispirazione del momento! Questi ciondoli su base in resina sono nati così, da un'idea che mi è venuta per caso cercando di scattare una bella foto da pubblicare su Instagram ad un visetto di bimba privo di chioma. Ero a casa dei miei e lì il giardino è pieno di fiori (l'assenza di pollice verde non l'ho ereditata in famiglia evidentemente), così ho pensato di fare uno scatto in cui, al posto dei capelli, ci fossero tante coloratissime corolle. Poichè il risultato mi è piaciuto molto mi sono detta "perchè non creare una mini collezione basata sulla stessa idea ma con fiori in pasta polimerica?". Detto fatto, sono nate queste tre piccoline: io amo in particolare la prima, e voi?

I had forgotten how fun it could be to create just following the inspiration of the moment! This is how these resin-based pendants were born, from an idea that came to me by chance, trying to take a nice photo of a doll face without hair to be posted on Instagram. I was at my parents' house and their garden is full of beautiful flowers (obviously I have not inherited the total absence of a green thumb from my family ) so I thought I should take a shot in which, instead of hair, there were many colorful flowers. Since I really liked the result, I said to myself "why not creating a mini collection based on the same idea but with polymer clay flowers?". So these three little girls were born: I love expecially the first one, and what about you?

Countrylife

Un nuovo ciondolo con sfondo "dipinto" in paste polimeriche, un paesaggio rurale stavolta, con una tenera bimba che sembra proprio godersi l'aria e la libertà che si respirano in campagna. Per chi, come me, non sa affatto usare i pennelli, dipingere con le paste polimeriche è una vera impresa, ho impiegato più di mezza giornata solo per lo sfondo di questo cammeo: fortunatamente è stato molto apprezzato dal destinatario, quindi posso dire ne sia valsa la pena. E a voi piace?

A new pendant with a polymer clay "painted" background, a rural landscape this time, with a tender little girl who seems enjoying the countryside air and freedom. For those who, like me, do not know how to use brushes at all, painting with polymer clay is a real challenge, I spent more than half a day just for the background of this pendant: fortunately it has been very much appreciated by the recipient, so I can say it was worth it. 

L'estate sta finendo...

 ...e qui già si pensa all'autunno e ai suoi frutti: tanti funghetti e una bimba che li indossa come cappello. Occhietti in vetro ancora una volta, mi piacciono davvero molto, e a voi?

Summer is ending and we are already thinking about autumn and its fruits: a lot of mushrooms and a little girl wearing them as a hat. Glass eyes again, I like them so much!

Inspired by the work of an artist who creates sugar paste wonders, Carlos Lischetti, here she is a chubby geisha - pendant version - ready for tea time. 

Codini e tartan

Ancora un ciondolo ispirato alle Blythe, stavolta vestitino tartan e codini, occhietti sempre in vetro.

A pendant inspired by Blythe dolls again, this time tartan dress and pigtails, glass eyes.

Mostrini tenerini

Ebbene sì, ancora una volta mi sono lasciata ispirare dai disegni di Chris Ryniak per delle mini sculture: un piccolino con la "bua" e uno che detesta alzarsi la mattina. Quale preferite?

Well yes, once again I let myself be inspired by Chris Ryniak's drawings: this time I made two figurines, a little monster with a patch and another one who hates getting up in the morning. Which one do you prefer?

Un matrimonio speciale

Speciale perchè per me ha rappresentato un po' il ritorno alla "normalità", quella che prima della pandemia ho sempre dato per scontata e che solo durante il lockdown ho imparato davvero ad apprezzare.

Finalmente si torna a stare insieme (sempre con tutte le dovute cautele, soprattutto nei luoghi chiusi e se si è in tanti, mi raccomando!!!) e si possono celebrare di nuovo i momenti speciali con i propri cari. 

Via libera ai matrimoni quindi, evviva!

This is a special wedding for me because it represents the return to "normal life", the one that, before the pandemic, I always took for granted and  I really learned to appreciate only during the "lockdown".

Finally we can stay together again (always with all due caution, especially in closed places and if there are a lot of people, I recommend!!!) and we can celebrate special moments with our loved ones. 

Green light for weddings therefore, cheers!

Kira e Ray

Oltre al cake topper con Luì e Sofì, sulla torta dei "Me contro te" c'erano anche i loro due cuccioli, Kira e Ray. Per realizzarli mi sono ispirata alle illustrazioni dei due cagnolini presenti nel logo dei due celebri youtuber: vi piacciono?

In addition to the Luì and Sofì cake topper, on the "Me contro te" birthday cake there were their two puppies too, Kira and Ray. To make them I was inspired by the illustration that is in the two famous youtubers logo: do you like them?
